Provider Reference Groups

What are the Provider Reference Groups meetings?

The aim of the Provider Reference Groups (PRGS) is to encourage regular, open and constructive dialogue with legal aid providers.

The meetings are open to providers working in both civil and criminal legal aid. Barristers working in legal aid are also welcome to attend.

Two rounds of PRG meetings have taken place so far, between July - August in 2011 and February - March in 2012. Both rounds were attended by more than 1,000 providers and an increasing number of barristers.

Why should I attend future Provider Reference Group meetings?

The meetings are an opportunity for you, as a legal aid provider, to hear first-hand what the Legal Services Commission is doing and discuss any matters directly with senior managers.

This could help you in managing operational issues and planning for the future.

How can I get involved?

We will notify you when the next round of PRGs is due to take place and will publicise this through our e-alert LSC Update and also by updating this page. Visit the LSC Update page to subscribe.

What do these events cover?

We always try to cover  issues relevant to providers, which means that the agenda will change.

Issues discussed at previous events include:
